Psychedemia

Thank you for your interest in Psychedemia! We are excited to host the conference but are postponing it to 2025. Stay tuned for new dates and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Charting the Future of Psychedelic Studies

In partnership with the Center for Psychedelic Drug Research and Education at The Ohio State University, Psychedemia 2024 will provide a rigorous interdisciplinary symposium for exchanging ideas, evaluating dominant perspectives, and critiquing current approaches to developing social frameworks for psychedelic use. This conference will review the recent history of psychedelic research and culture; assess where we currently stand; and chart pathways for the future of the field. A richly varied program will include Lectures, Symposia, and Spotlight Sessions.

Over ten years ago in 2012, Psychedemia made history as the first psychedelics conference to be sponsored and funded by an academic institution since the resurgence of psychedelic research.

Heres what our 2022 attendees had to say:

“Meeting the team associated with the center in Columbus was a highlight.”

“The posters were very informative. The wide range of academic topics and researchers was very stimulating.”

“This conference was a great experience -- I definitely want to come back.”

“Yarelix Estrada’s talk was incredible. The welcome reception was wonderful and I was a part of the moving art situation that was going on. That was special. Getting to meet and talk to people in general was wonderful.”

“It was a pleasure to attend this conference and I look forward to returning in 2024.”

“I appreciated all the opportunities to network and chat. My favorite part of the conference was the diversity of topics.”

“I enjoyed my experience very much. All four keynote speakers were fantastic, and set the exact kind of tone for conferences that I want to attend - namely, those with a strong commitment to social, economic and environmental justice. I felt very invigorated by the kinds of critical, necessary discussions that were being had!”

“I was inspired by Psychedemia, especially by the vibrancy and passion of the many student participants. I also was very impressed by the inclusion of speakers that were critical of aspects of the ‘psychedelic renaissance’.”

“I feel very fulfilled, grateful, and honored to have been a part of Psychedemia. The hard work, dedication, and warmth of the conference organizers; the serendipitous and amicable conversations with various presenters and attendees; as well as the opportunity to finally present my research in an adequate forum contributed to these feelings.”
